OUR history

James O. Martin and his father, George O. Martin, embarked on an incredible American dream, laying the foundation of their oil company. At only 19 years old, with industrious passion, Jim—along with his father and later joined by his brothers and sister—established a company based on strong family values. They desired to make a difference in the communities they served and to provide exceptional customer service. This led the Martin family to open the first MinitMart in the early 1980s.

 

As the years passed, Nittany MinitMart, a division of Nittany Oil Company, Inc., continued to grow and expand throughout North Central Pennsylvania. Yet, amidst company growth, the team has never forgotten its family-value roots—emphasizing cooperation as the cornerstone of operations and creating a workplace with dynamic energy. Over 60 years later, the passion for service and the desire to make a difference propel Nittany forward.
